Of course I didn’t research this shoot location on Instagram. Nope. OK I’m a bit rubbish at lying, after seeing St Luke’s Mews pop up a few times on my feed, I had to have a look for myself. As expected, it’s a pretty West London street filled with gorgeous doors, perfectly placed bikes and a cat that likes to hijack any snaps. It also just happens to complement my new embroidered dress rather nicely. Even though it’s practically August, I’m thinking ahead when it comes to shopping and trying to find things that will work layered up later in the year. You probably know that I’m obsessed with folkloric embroidery (I’ve even got Liv on the case looking out for items). It’s one of those enduring trends that can work for any situation and there’s some really vivid styles popping up and floating my boat. Now if somewhere like ASOS could just whip up a nice little jacket for a reasonable price, I’d be a very happy blogger.
I’ve accepted that I’m probably too indecisive to get a tattoo, but ear piercings I can definitely get on board with. Wild, I know. I was invited to Love Hate Social Club in Notting Hill to choose a new addition and it’s a bit like creating a masterpiece, especially if you’re going for the punky look that’s all over Pinterest. You really have to do what works with the shape of your ear. I went in thinking that I wanted a tragus piercing, fell in love with the rose gold feather pin, realised my tragus was too small and ended up getting it somewhere I hadn’t even considered thanks to piercer Leanne’s know-how. I can see why this sort of thing gets addictive, even though the initial discomfort is real and I’m really squeamish. This one is next on my list, no idea where it could go but that’s all part of the fun.
