Is anyone else excited for Autumn fashion but slightly perturbed as to what it represents? We have less than four months left of 2016 people! It’s also rather confusing that I’m looking at jumpers and leather jackets when it’s 28 degrees, but hey ho, what can you do. After a Summer filled with tricky trends and plenty of online returns, I’m starting to get excited about fashion again. Basically I prefer having more layers to play around with (like Pandora Sykes muses, I’m also a member of the BWB club) and I’m itching to go back to the jumper + skirt combinations that disguise a whole lot of fried chicken dinners. As per usual I’ve included plenty of prints, bold colours and intricate embroidery; I can’t wait to mix and match to my heart’s content when it gets a little cooler. I probably need to start a bit of a clear out before I buy anything new, but being the magpie that I am, I’m now obsessed with these gold boots and the slightly more realistic Mango version. COS has also got plenty of tops in that architectural style that looks great with jeans (I just wish they didn’t all come in white, because NW45 foundation) and & Other Stories keeps reading my mind when it comes to skirts.
1. COS top, 2. Sandro dress, 3. Monki jeans, 4. House Of Holland boots (cheaper Mango version here), 5. New Look Jacket, 6. Zara dress, 7. Warehouse dress, 8. Tatty Devine, 9. & Other Stories jumper, 10. Zara bag, 11. River Island skirt
Does anyone else look at those ‘inspirational’ Instagram feeds and think ‘I’d never fit in here?’ That’s not a bad thing by any means, I realise that I’m nowhere near the dominant aesthetic and I don’t want to be. Fortunately there’s plenty of eclectic dressers out there sharing their threads and I’m still hooked on Man Repeller thanks to their diverse street style edits. Also when all else fails, you can’t go wrong with a bit of Alexa. Fingers crossed her next M&S collection contains the perfect velvet dress.
