I think I’ve got my fashion mojo back! The thing about having a blog that covers a bit-of-everything, is that I can dip in and out of my topics depending on how relevant they are in my life. I like to call it having my cake and eating it too. If I seem to lose the ability to get dressed in the morning or feel as if my bod looks a bit weird in the latest trend, then I’ll just start posting about cakes and podcasts instead. Works a treat.
Fashion is my first love however and the main reason why I started IWYTK. When I signed up to my Blogspot account back in 2008, I found a community of people who obsessed over collections and just wanted to express themselves in a certain colour, print or texture. Even though I cringe at times, I love seeing how my style has changed over the years and it’s a helluva lot easier for me to style myself, now I’m a lot more confident. Saying that, Autumn tends to be the season where the clothes and styling help me to feel better about myself. It gives me the chance to get a little creative, since I love a rich colour palette and can easily hide all the things I want to with a strategically placed layer.
This Warehouse dress combines all of the things I’m loving at the moment. Quirky print? Check. Fluted sleeves? Check. Fit and flare shape? It’s in the basket obvs. Also, expect to see me in a lot of burgundy over the next few months. I’d been searching for a leather jacket in this hue for a while and this Stradivarius number fits the bill nicely. Dare I say it, but I think I finally have a favourite colour at the grand old age of 29.
