Did you miss me? The round-up posts I mean, obviously I’ve still been twirling and attempting to recreate my trademark ‘leaning-against-a-wall’ post every so often. I’ve been spending July getting back into the swing of things again and it feels great to have regular content. I anticipated a bit of a ‘Summer slump’, since it tends to happen around this time of year and thankfully I’m through the worst of it. The solution? Definitely confiding in others, as this post states and finding articles that make me think ‘Ah, it all makes sense now.’
I could relate to this Stylist piece about the effect of technology on my brain all too much and it’s like I need to reprogramme myself to not think that an empty battery is the end of the world. Similarly, this mid-year check up was reassuring and handy if you need to reevaluate things. It’s all about understanding your obstacles, working out what’s doable and celebrating your achievements.
The rest of the links are a mixture of the eclectic and important. I’m so pleased that Eva Wiseman wrote about the fear of sitting on a white sofa whilst on your period (I could have done with reading this when I was thirteen) and found this Atlantic article about the dynamics of black boys and girls fitting in at schools heartbreaking. On a brighter note, I loved learning about why one of my favourite Instagramers is obsessed with colour plus the new chief brand officer of Uber, Bozoma Saint John. There’s plenty of inspiring women to be found, amongst these links.
