Have you ever seen me in so many pairs of trews?! As much as I love a jumper and skirt combination, most of the time you’ll find me in something a little more denim-heavy when the weather is a bit all over the place. It’s not my preferred look, thanks to body insecurities and all that, but I’m trying to be as creative as possible and get out of my comfort zone a little bit.
As much as I love these looks, most of them were way too hot once I hit the Tube and I feel like that method of London transport needs its own style guide. It’s that awkward time when you can get a little over-enthusiastic with layering, then get out of the house and realise it’s 19 degrees (before it starts raining an hour later). Don’t even get me started on this week’s sepia Sun situation. England, WYD?!
I Think I Love Weekday Denim
I think I’ve turned into one of those old fogeys, reminiscing over the good old days of denim and freaking out about all the frills and patches. It’s a weird situation. As much as I love some of the details (Shope looks amazing here), I struggle with how it looks on me and I’m not quite there yet in terms of IDGAF confidence.
What I’ve been searching for is a sort of denim middle ground and these Weekday Ami jeans do just that. They’re a little bit cropped and are nice and generous on the waist (hello medium rise). I struggle with anything super high purely because I don’t posess Kardashian proportions and have to walk around my house with them permanently undone.
These tick a few trend boxes and the flat consistent colour gives them a vintage look. Please bring them out in more colours and a frayed hem!
Just Add Flowers
Trust me to create a Bloom & Wild bouquet that coordinates with my outfit! I got to pick out this Monki jumper for a recent project and although it’s sold out (boooo), there’s plenty of similar styles on the High Street. I think it’ll be my go-to look for this Autumn, fine stripy knits, frayed jeans and a colourful layer.
It took me ages to find the perfect burgundy trench, but once I did, I realised that the dye from the faux suede liked to transfer onto most of my possessions. Thanks for that Zara! I’m hoping it’s just a temporary thing and will keep you updated. Maybe just avoid hugging me for the time being.
I can’t believe it’s not a jumpsuit!
Yay for this Reiss combo still going strong after 2 years! I do sometimes feel the pressure to keep constantly updating things as a blogger, but deep down I know I can only do it when it’s right for me. I have to wait for the right dress that makes me feel amazing, the jeans that prompt friends to post peach emojis and shoes that incorporate some kind of rose gold.
This is probably one of those looks that isn’t necessarily the latest thing, but there’s enough personality to make it work. Those are the kinds of things I’m searching for most of the time. Brands that have their own identity and fit into my eclectic wardrobe. It helps that the co-ord is more practical than a jumpsuit and I can wear them separately too. Win!
