What my life has really been like 2.5 years into a global pandemic…
Where do I even start?! Although this blog has been neglected of late, it still means so much to me. It was like a diary of sorts during difficult times and has really shaped the person I am today. Basically, I’m feeling super reflective. I’m officially halfway through my 30s as I had my birthday last Wednesday. Insert panicked emoji here.
This year has been a bit of a rollercoaster. I think I may have PTSD from 2020? Although we haven’t had any lockdowns this year, the damage has still been done. I understand why they happened, but it will take me some time to process the grief, loneliness and breakdown of certain friendships.
I guess I’m taking things one day at a time. My friend Laila (please order their amazing book) joked that most people who did lockdown alone are on antidepressants and I’m one of them. I’m trying to make the most of my new-ish area now that things are open and buzzing again. I’m saying yes to all the events and I’ve scheduled a mixture of chats with old friends and meetings with key industry contacts. It’s weird being ‘busy’ again after so much time alone in my flat, but I kinda like it?!
Are you still reading blogs? I definitely want to share some more Jamaica tips plus my visit to Deal during my birthday week. I think that I’ll still keep the odd city guide and longer post here, so don’t worry. I’ve also started a Patreon, which is a bit of a multidisciplinary, evolving newsletter. I may even pop the odd YouTube style video on there!
If you loved my influencer support group #YouCanSitWithUsLDN, then join the higher tiers for monthly Q&A’s and one to ones. My Instagram is still a bit of a hub of fashion and lifestyle content, Stories are where I brainstorm ideas and my TikTok is a little more playful. You can also shop my outfits and wishlist via this link.
So much content! Currently the influencer industry is going through its awkward teenage years and although we’ve had ‘what if Instagram dies?’ in our heads for years, I think that it will a) take on feedback and stick to its original USP or b) pilfer from other apps so much that it loses its identity and we have to play along as best as we can. How do you feel about it all?
This post sums up a lot of my thoughts. Sure it would be nice if one of my posts went viral, but would that even bring me my desired audience? Right now I’m aiming for substance and playing the long game.
Anyways I hope to not leave it so long between posts again. Thanks as always for your support!

So nice to read this post. Happy belated birthday… and no need to panic, you are a mere whippersnapper 😉 It’s interesting to see how blogging and social media continue to evolve. I was there in the baby years so the awkward teenager phase sounds about right! We just got back from a Jamaica family holiday and I loved that country so much so I’ll be checking out your tips. Best of luck with all your upcoming projects x

Only just discovered your blog but firstly – I love that I’m not spammed with ads, but also love how crisp, clear and colourful it feels and is. Hope you keep posting!
